Environment From crisis to comfort: ReLove provides hope and home [https://news.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/articles/from-crisis-to-comfort-relove-provides-hope-and-home]
Grant recipient ReLove is working to support vulnerable people in crisis with a smart and sustainable solution.
The accidental charity has a cavernous warehouse. And tucked at the entrance you’ll find a homewares store like no other. It's a safe place for people in crisis to shop for everything they need to furnish their new home.

From trees to EVs: key wins from our latest green report [https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/research-reports/green-reports]
Each year we publish our Green Report [https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/research-reports/green-reports] so you can see how we’re tracking against our sustainability targets.
Here’s some of the feel-good stuff we’ve been doing:
1,112 trees planted - plus 78,579 new plants in parks and street gardens. Turning dialysis water into street cleaners - filtered water from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s kidney dialysis machines is now repurposed for street cleaning. It’s an Australian-first initiative. 4 tonnes of corporate food waste converted to fertiliser - food waste from Town Hall House, Eveleigh Early Learning and Preschool and Ultimo Community Centre is recycled onsite with food dehydrators. 500kg of uniforms reused or recycled - old uniforms found a second life with an Australian textile recovery company. What started as a trial is now a permanent program. 20 new electric vehicles - our largest EV rollout yet, paving the way for a cleaner fleet. 6 Sydney Cricket Grounds' worth of new streetscape greening - we’ve been replacing hard surfaces on our streets with plants and grass. In a year, we added more than one hectare of greening. Rainwater reuse systems producing more than 20 million litres of water each year - this is more water than we use for Redfern Park, Wentworth Park and Wynyard Park combined.
Since 2006, we’ve cut emissions from our operations by a remarkable 76%. Find out more and read the Green Report [https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/research-reports/green-reports].
Let’s continue working together for a greener, healthier, more liveable Sydney.
